Taplow Youth Choir - Winner of the Youth Category of the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition.
Musical Director Gillian Dibden MBE

Taplow Youth Choir has a membership of
around 60 boys and girls aged 14 - 18 years. They enjoy the challenges of a wide range of choral music
and the opportunity to perform in many different venues. They won the outstanding award at the National
Festival of Music for Youth in July and sang at the School Prom at The Royal Albert Hall in November
2008. The choir has enjoyed workshops with Michael Brewer (National Youth Choir) and John Dickinson
from Texas. They have sung Choral Evensong in both Eton College Chapel and St George's Chapel, Windsor,
and performed with Chaconne Brass in Reading Concert Hall, and as part of Windsor Festival.
Gillian Dibden MBE is a freelance Choral Specialist, well known for her work with young choirs. Gillian is working with Philip Viveash, creating a network of choirs based in the south Bucks village of Taplow. She has served on the Council of the Association of British Choral Directors, and received two significant awards in 2002 - a Churchill Fellowship in Choral Music and Choral Director of the Year in the Sainsbury's Choir of the Year competition. Gillian enjoys adjudicating for the National Festival of Music for Youth at both regional and national levels. She also leads singing days for the Wigmore Hall Education Department and courses for the junior choirs of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. Gillian enjoys delivering inset for teachers, most recently for Sing Up! As Academic Executive for the Montgomery Holloway Music Trust, Gillian runs a summer school in advanced performance skills with well-known musician Laurie Holloway. Gillian was made an MBE in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.
