Walk with Wheals - Sunday 20 September

10.30am meet in Car Park, Wooburn Playing Fields - Click here for Map

WOOBURN TOWN :: FLACKWELL HEATH :: NORTHERN WOODS :: LITTLE MARLOW :: SPADE OAK :: THAMES PATH :: BOURNE END :: WOOBURN TOWN.

A gentle historical circumnavigation of Bourne End (about 6 miles mainly on footpaths). The walk is unguided but Diana Johnson has produced a map with history notes which will be available at the start (£1.50).

This walk was originally organised by local historian Brian Wheals, his widow Ann has kindly helped with the details for the route.

Did you know that Katherine of Aragon established lace making in the area or that Edgar Wallace is buried here?

The Kings Head and The Queens Head at Little Marlow are passed at lunch time en route, and The Old Bell pub is at the finish of the walk in Wooburn Town.

FREE (£1.50 for notes with map)
