Born
and raised in New York City, she was the kid with the camera in her backpack.
With dreams of the theatre, she made extra money shooting headshots for
friends and paying her way through college. It did not occur to her that
photography was her true calling. Now She loves every moment of shooting
and says she wouldn't trade her camera for a Oscar in a million years.
Having built a huge children's portrait business in Los Angeles she spends her days rolling and giggling with every sort of child her beautiful city has to offer.
The past year has seen her series of work "Portraits of Skid Row, through the eyes of the Children" win several awards.
As well as the beautiful children of Los Angeles, she has expanded her dreams of photographing children of all countries and life styles. Recently photographing the children from the rural villages in the jungles of Laos, the orphanages of Cambodia, the young monks of Siem Reap, the slums of Bangkok, and the children who live in the damps in Mexico. Her most recent trip was a month photographing the children of tribes of rural India.
Jamie's ambition is to continue her journey and spend her days rolling with all the children of the world. More...
is a Buckinghamshire based photographer specialising in British seascapes, landscapes and close-up plant and fungi photography. His images clearly convey his passion for all aspects of the natural world. Barry regularly gives illustrated talks and leads practical photography workshops.
Dennis Palmer
For
over 50 years Dennis has devoted most of his spare time to photography
and cameras have been constant companions on his journeys. In addition
to Britain, he has been to most countries in Europe and further afield
to Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Syria, India, Nepal and Yemen.
Four of his early black and white prints were included in the Royal Photographic Society's special exhibition Ways of Life in Great Britain, and one of his Nepalese photographs taken in Nepal, reached the final of the Wanderlust Travel Photo Competition.
His work now, mostly in colour, often relies on details or a significant moment to convey his fascination with the life, landscapes and architecture of the places he visits. His work is also in the on-line photographic library alamy.com.
Mitchell Woodman
Only four years ago Mitch bought himself an SLR camera and took a trip with an old school friend, now a professional photographer.
From this experience he determined he needed a project for his work and took as a basis, a map of the Thames Valley depicting folklore, witchcraft and all manner of unusual historical events. This proved a good starting point and with some research he set off to capture photographs to accompany the 'Tale' or 'Legend'.
He is planning a book to cover the 60+ sites through the Thames Valley and Chilterns where he can put together his photographs and the 'tales' of our local area.
Although he occasionally dips into other areas of photography:- portrait, musicians, etc. he always find himself drawn back to landscapes, ruins and dark moody images.
Trevor Jones
Trevor has worked in industrial, commercial, press and architectural photography and is a specialist darkroom printer. Much of this work was with large format plate cameras but now he only uses a Nikon digital SLR camera.
He and his wife Janet have always run their own business, JJ Photoservices, specialising in travel and architecture but in 1987 Trevor became fully self employed.
In the mid 1990's he joined his brother, in the travel industry, and they began organising specialist holidays for railway enthusiasts.
Apart from model railway photography for Hornby Magazine he now only takes photographs to please himself or for publicity in connection with the steam locomotive driving courses run in Poland.
Having
travelled and photographed over 30 different countries, Halid aspires
to capture a fresh and inspiring view of the world and its people. From
the amazing deserts of Utah, USA, including the infamous yet very rare
photos of the petrified sand-dunes of Coyote Buttes, to the Mediterranean
paradise of his birth-place of North Cyprus, his intense sensitivity
to angles, colours, expressions, contrasts and textures result in an
outstanding portfolio of images and emotions.
In between travel assignments, he works as Chief Photographer for Commercial Business Photography agency, Marketing Eye Photography, and co-runs the Rhubarb & Custard Photo Gallery in Eton
John Timbrell has been a photographer for almost 40 years. Originally working with black and white film which he developed and printed, or colour slide film, he now works with digital cameras. His images are all digital prints, and produced mostly with digital cameras, sometimes scanned in film. He takes a variety of subjects but concentrates especially on texture, form and details which other photographers might ignore. The results are sometimes abstracts where it is unclear what the subject is. However, he only uses minimal post camera manipulation.
He has always had a special liking for black and white photographs as they convey different messages and moods to colour.
He has had photographs published in the Photography Year book as well as other photography books and been short listed in the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition. He has also exhibited as part of Bucks Open Studios in 2010 and 2011, at Bourne End Library in 2010, in the Wooburn Summer exhibition in 2010 and his photographs are currently on display at the Art at 88 gallery in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire, UK.
