The concert suite comprises the stirring Hymn before Action and the 4 movements from the Latin mass, including the Benedictus with its haunting cello solo.  

All the music will be interwoven with WWI poetry by Wilfred Owen, Thomas Hardy & many others.

This is the final concert of this year’s Wooburn Festival.  


Wooburn Singers Concert

Wooburn Singers concert promises to be an unusual and moving programme of music and poetry to mark 100 years since the end of the first world war. 

The programme includes Walford Davies: Short Requiem, first published in 1915, composed 'In Sacred Memory of all those who have fallen in the war' with the concert suite from Karl Jenkins: The Armed Man - a Mass for Peace,  first performed in 2000 and dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo crisis.
